Monday – Noon

The Washington Noon Rotary Club was pleased to welcome P.S. Jones African-American Education Museum Executive Director, Alice Sadler, as this past week’s guest speaker.

Ms. Sadler was introduced by her husband, Mayor Donald Sadler, who is a club member.

Ms. Sadler delivered a very compelling power point presentation which captured the history of African-American public education in Beaufort County beginning with the Civil War reconstruction era to the present.

The career educator also thanked the club for recently awarding a $2,500 grant to help fund the the P.S. Jones African-American Education Museum which is located in Washington.

Also pictured is Noon Rotarian Bob Douglas who became the club’s newest member to attain Major Donor Status.

He was joined by his wife Jackie. Together, the Douglases have strongly supported both international Rotary projects and local Rotary programs both in Washington and their previous residence in Red Bluff, California.

The Washington Noon Rotary Club convenes at the King Chicken Banquet Facility each Monday at noon featuring a luncheon buffet and a guest speaker presentation.

This coming Monday’s guest speaker is Edward-Jones Financial Advisor Jordan Cantrell who’ll explain economic indicators and potential investment opportunities. Prospective club members and guests are always welcome to attend a future meeting by contacting Spencer Stanley at 252-940-8769.
